Trinity Communion

Opening words

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

Opening Hymn

Gathering and Preparation, Confession

God the Father, who has spoken to us through the scriptures.

Open our ears and hearts to hear your word.

God the Son, who saved our world by the power of your cross.

Strengthen us to follow you.

God the Holy Spirit, who revealed yourself to the disciples as a living flame.

Set us on fire with your love.

Blessed are you, Holy Trinity,  Father, Son and Holy Spirit, be with us today.

Amen.

Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden:
cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,
that we may perfectly love you,
and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

God the Father forgives us in Christ and heals us by the Holy Spirit.

Let us therefore put away all anger and bitterness, all slander and malice, and confess our sins to God our redeemer.

Almighty God, we confess that we have sinned against you:
for we have denied your saving presence in our lives, and we have grieved your Holy Spirit.

Come to us in the fire of your love, and set our minds on the things of the Spirit, that we may bear his fruit in love and joy and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

The Absolution

May the father forgive you by the blood of the son.And strengthen you to live in the power of the spirit all your days.

Amen

Affirmation of Faith

Let us in our love for one another affirm our faith in Jesus Christ.

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.

We believe in God the Father,
who created all things:
for by his will they were created and have their being.

We believe in God the Son, who was slain:
for with his blood, he purchased us for God, from every tribe and language, from every people and nation.

We believe in God the Holy Spirit
the Spirit and the Bride say, ‘Come!’
Even so come, Lord Jesus!
Amen.

Offertory Hymn

Eucharistic Prayer

The Lord is here.

His Spirit is with us.

Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give thanks
and praise.

It is right to praise you, Father, Lord of all creation; in your love you made us for yourself.
When we turned away you did not reject us, but came to meet us in your Son.

You embraced us as your children
and welcomed us to sit and eat with you.

In Christ you shared our life
that we might live in him and he in us.

He opened his arms of love upon the cross and made for all the perfect sacrifice for sin.

On the night he was betrayed,
at supper with his friends he took bread, and gave you thanks;
he broke it and gave it to them, saying:
Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you;
do this in remembrance of me.

Father, we do this in remembrance of him: his body is the bread of life.

At the end of supper, taking the cup of wine, he gave you thanks, and said:
Drink this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant,
which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins;  do this in remembrance of me.

Father, we do this in remembrance of him: his blood is shed for all.

As we proclaim his death and celebrate his rising in glory, send your Holy Spirit that this bread and this wine may be to us the body and blood of your dear Son.

As we eat and drink these holy gifts
make us one in Christ, our risen Lord.

With your whole Church throughout the world we offer you this sacrifice of praise and lift our voice to join the eternal song of heaven:

Holy, holy, holy Lord,
God of power and might,
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.

We pray for the coming of God’s Kingdom as Jesus taught us.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your []name, your kingdom come, your will be []done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those []who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation but deliver []us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the []glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

We break this bread to share in the body of Christ

Though we are many, we are one body, because we all share in one bread.

Most merciful Lord,
your love compels us to come in.
Our hands were unclean,
our hearts were unprepared;
we were not fit even to eat the crumbs from under your table.
But you, Lord, are the God of our salvation, and share your bread
with sinners.

So cleanse and feed us
with the precious body
and blood of your Son,
that he may live in us and we in him;
and that we, with the whole
company of Christ,
may sit and eat in your kingdom.
Amen.

I am the bread of life, says the Lord.
Whoever comes to me will never be hungry; Whoever believes in me will never thirst.
Taste and see that the Lord is good:

Happy are they who trust in him.

Communion songs

Post Communion Prayer

God our creator,
by your gift the tree of life was set at []the heart of the earthly paradise,
and the bread of life at the heart of []your Church:
may we who have been nourished at

your table on earth
be transformed by the glory of the []Saviour’s cross
and enjoy the delights of eternity;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
.
.

We thank God for all he has given us.

Almighty God, we thank you for feeding us with the body and blood of your Son Jesus Christ.
Through him we offer you our souls and bodies to be a living sacrifice.
Send us out in the power of your Spirit to live and work to your praise and glory.

Penultimate Hymn

The Blessing and Sending Out

To God the Father, who loved us,
and made us accepted in the Beloved:
to God the Son, who loved us,
and loosed us from our sins by his own blood:

to God the Holy Ghost, who spreads the love of God abroad in our hearts:
to the one true God be all love and all glory for time and for eternity.

And the blessing of God Almighty, Father, Son and Holy Spirit be among you and remain with you always.
Amen.

We go in peace to love and serve the Lord.

In the name of Christ. Amen.
